Firestone Transforce Tire Line Grows With Four New Replacement Sizes

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (June 10, 2005) - Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire, LLC (BFNT) has expanded its Firestone® Transforce™ commercial light truck tire line to include four new fitments for mid- to full-size Chevrolet/GMC, Ford and Dodge pickup trucks.

“The introduction of these new fitments allow Silverado/Sierra, F-Series and Ram owners the opportunity to continue their loyalty for the Firestone brand when selecting a replacement tire for their hard working trucks," said Phil Pacsi, executive director, North American Consumer Tire Brand Marketing, BFNT. “Both the Firestone Transforce HT and AT tires utilize our exclusive UNI-T® technologies for a long life and comfortable ride.”

The Firestone Transforce HT is best suited for light-duty and commercial vehicles that spend most of their operating life on the highway. It is now available in Load Range E sizes LT235/80R17 and LT245/70R17.

The Firestone Transforce AT is engineered to provide commercial service vehicles all-terrain wet and dry performance. It is now offered in Load Range E sizes LT265/75R16 and LT235/80R17.

The new fitments expand the Firestone Transforce line to include a total of 21 popular 15-, 16- and 17-inch Load Range C, D and E light truck sizes.

UNI-T is an acronym for Ultimate Network of Intelligent Tire Technology. It features three core elements: CO·CS®, a Computer Optimized Component System which allows design and manufacturing processes to work more cooperatively, leading to a more efficient tire that doesn't sacrifice one area of performance for improvements in another; O-Bead®, a more round structure that minimizes overlapped joints in the bead area for improved ride; and L.L. Carbon® (Long Link Carbon) which helps the rubber compound resist microscopic tread tearing related to wear.
