NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 6, 2005) - Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire, LLC (BFNT) is announcing three new sizes to its Firestone® Destination™ M/T tire line, including a 17-inch application in response to aftermarket needs.
The Firestone Destination M/T is a full-traction-depth tire featuring the company’s exclusive UNI-T® technology for excellent wet and mud handling, designed specifically for trucks driven off-highway. The new additions to the line are Load Range E sizes LT265/75R16, LT305/70R16 and LT265/70R17.
The Firestone Destination M/T line features a square footprint and heavy-duty construction to protect it in the most extreme terrains, and has a high void to help clear debris from the tread. To assist in winter driving conditions, the tire is pinned for studs.
The new fitments expand the tire line to include a total of 14 popular 15-, 16- and 17-inch Load Range C, D and E sizes for a variety of heavy-duty and max-traction applications. It comes with a choice of blackwall or raised white lettering.
UNI-T® is an acronym for “Ultimate Network of Intelligent Tire Technology” found only in Bridgestone, Firestone, Dayton and select associate brand tires. One of its core technologies is a Computer Optimized Component System, CO·CS®, which uses a super computer to help determine an ideal combination of tread design, casing shape, materials and construction for a particular application.
The use of L.L. Carbon®, or Long Link Carbon, an advanced form of carbon black, produces a stronger tire, better able to resist cracking, chipping, tearing and excessive wear.
