Four Bridgestone Tires Named Consumers Digest “Best Buys”Magazine gives Bridgestone brand more recommendations than any other tire brand

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (February 7, 2006) - Consumers Digest editors added Bridgestone®-brand products to their list of tire “Best Buys” more times and in more product segments than they did with any other tire brand.

The “Best Buys” list that appears in the magazine’s February 2006 issue lists a Bridgestone-brand tire in four tire categories: touring, performance, light truck/SUV tires all-purpose and sport. The “Best Buy” designation indicates these products offer the best value for their price—a designation awarded, on average, to fewer than 3 percent of competing models in any given product category.

“We’re thrilled to have so many of our tires in such a broad selection of categories singled out for special attention as ‘Best Buys’,” said Phil Pacsi, executive director, North American consumer tire marketing, Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire, LLC (BFNT). “Having them recognized by an independent source speaks volumes about the superior quality of our products.”

The editors collect information from many sources to reach their conclusions, including independent testing and research facilities, government agencies, consumer surveys, service outlets, independent technical experts, as well as their own hands-on examinations.

The Bridgestone-brand tires that earned spots on the list, and what Consumers Digest had to say about them, included:

  • Bridgestone Turanza LS-H (touring tire category)
“packs every punch that Bridgestone offers” Consumers Digest

  • Bridgestone Potenza G009 (performance tire category)
“Bridgestone’s venerable Potenza is more than a brand; it’s tire science from the racing world” Consumers Digest

  • Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza (light truck/SUV all-purpose tire category)
“offers great value in a modern, proven and capable package” Consumers Digest

  • Bridgestone Dueler H/P (sport tire category)
“offers great highway performance as it delivers sports-car-like handling” Consumers Digest

The Bridgestone Americas booth (NH1) will feature all of this in a stunning exhibit at this year’s Chicago Auto Show, which is open to the public Feb. 10-19.
