Bridgestone Americas And Bridgestone Metalpha Donate $25,000 To The Preservation Of Our Military History

Ft. Campbell, Ky. (May 9, 2006) - Celebrating its 10th year of operation in Clarksville, Tenn., Bridgestone Metalpha USA, Inc., and its parent company, Bridgestone Americas Holding, Inc., (BSAH) today made a donation of $25,000 to assist in the building of the Wings of Liberty Military Museum in Fort Campbell, Ky. “We are honored to be able to contribute to the Fort Campbell Historical Foundation and its quest to fund the building of the new Wings of Liberty Military museum” said Christine Karbowiak, vice president, Public Affairs, BSAH. “This contribution is a way for us to give back to the community in which we live and do business. It is also a way for us to honor those military men, women and their families who have dedicated themselves to defending our freedoms.”

We are very proud to be a part of the Clarksville community which has been such a strong supporter of Ft. Campbell and our service men and women,” said Metalpha Plant manager, Jeff Perry. “We’re pleased that our contribution will help the Fort Campbell Historical Foundation achieve its goal of expanding this great military museum to make it bigger, better and more accessible to the community,” Perry concluded. The Wings of Liberty Military Museum plan boasts an approximate 80,000 square feet facility—including a 200-seat IMAX-style theater, art gallery, cafe, book store/gift shop and artifact storage area. The Museum will command a magnificent presence on rolling hills overlooking the recently developed Patriots' Park on the outer edge of Fort Campbell. This 24-acre campus will allow visitors direct access to the complex from the highway. Visitors passes will not be required to visit the Wings of Liberty Museum. “Contributions such as this from Bridgestone Metalpha USA, Inc. and Bridgestone Americas help preserve significant historical and military artifacts for future generations,” said Dan Thompson, associate campaign director of the Wings of Liberty Campaign. “We can learn so much by studying the events of the past. We salute Bridgestone Americas’ and Bridgestone Metalpha’s commitment to the community.”
