Bridgestone Firestone Teammate Receives National HonorsNational Private Truck Council bestows highest individual award on Ron Tartt
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 15, 2006) - Ron Tartt’s hard work is not going unnoticed.
Tartt, general manager of Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire, LLC’s (BFNT) private fleet, recently received the Private Fleet Executive of the Year award from the National Private Truck Council (NPTC). The award was presented at the NPTC’s annual conference in Nashville, Tenn., in May.
“It’s an honor to receive this award,” Tartt said. “It’s especially gratifying to be recognized for doing a job that I find to be exciting and challenging on a daily basis. Further, I have been a proud member of the NPTC for many years and am humbled that they chose to honor me this way. I want to thank the staff and members of the NPTC and the teammates I work with everyday at BFNT. My achievement of this award has been made possible by their help and support.”
The Private Fleet Executive of the Year Award is the NPTC's highest individual award and is presented to a person who has demonstrated leadership and service to the private fleet, corporate or business community through innovations, productivity improvements, personnel management gains, technological advancements, and other measures of fleet efficiency and management excellence.
“Ron Tartt is one of the most active and productive fleet managers among our members,” said Gary Petty, NPTC’s president and CEO. “He’s a leader in our training and certification program and has involved many of the fleet managers into the certification program. We are honored to recognize him for his exemplary service.”
In addition to his role as general manager of BFNT’s private fleet for the last 12 years, Tartt has served for the past four years as the chairman of the Institute Board of Governors for the NPTC and is currently vice chair/chair elect of the NPTC Board of Directors.
It’s this dedication that has helped the BFNT private fleet become one of the most successful in the country.
