Bridgestone Turanza ER33 Run-Flat Tires Are Optional On 2007 Lexus GS 450h Hybrid

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (August 8, 2006) - Bridgestone® brand Turanza ER33™ RFT Run-Flat tires in size 245/40ZR18 are optional equipment on the 2007 Lexus GS 450h hybrid. Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire, LLC (BFNT) is the sole supplier of optional 18-inch Run-Flat tires for the vehicle.

According to Lexus, the GS 450h is “the world’s first luxury hybrid sport sedan,” combining “dynamic performance, increased fuel efficiency and uncompromising luxury.”

“Just as Lexus is advancing hybrid sedan technology, Bridgestone has been a pioneer in developing, producing and testing Run-Flat tires for more than 20 years,” said Michael Martini, president, original equipment consumer tire, BFNT. “Our Turanza ER33 RFT tire on the Lexus GS 450h sedan represents an exciting convergence of these consumer-friendly and environmentally conscious technologies.”

The Bridgestone Turanza ER33 RFT, a member of the Bridgestone Turanza original equipment touring tire family, features a summer tread pattern and blends high performance characteristics with touring ride comfort.

Incorporating Bridgestone-brand Run-Flat Tire Technology, the Bridgestone Turanza ER33 RFT offers a sense of security by allowing drivers to travel up to 50 miles at 50 mph after a loss of air. The use of a Run-Flat tire also eliminates the need for carrying a spare tire, freeing up extra trunk space and reducing vehicle weight for better fuel efficiency.

The Bridgestone Turanza ER33 RFT is also available on a replacement basis through Bridgestone-certified Run-Flat dealers nationwide.

The Lexus GS 450h was first available at Lexus dealerships beginning in June 2006.
