Aston Martin Chooses Bridgestone
Brussels, Belgium (September 18, 2006) - Aston Martin has teamed up with Bridgestone once again, choosing Potenza RE050A tyres for its stunning new V8 Vantage, having previously fitted the ultra-high-performance tyres on the hugely popular DB9.
The stunning car is the most affordable Aston Martin launched to date, and fuses the marque’s traditional style with everyday usability. And like all Aston Martins, it offers electrifying performance and outstanding agility.
Powered by a 4.3 litre engine, the V8 Vantage can accelerate from 0-60mph in under five seconds and boasts a top speed of 175mph. The car’s impressive performance is not only down to the powerful engine, but also its unique lightweight, aluminium structure, which gives it excellent strength and stability.
Perfect 50-50 weight distribution, results in excellent agility, balance, and handling – which is further enhanced by the Bridgestone Potenza tyres.

With an outer pattern featuring large blocks, the tyre provides superior handling and road holding, while its larger contact area dramatically improves cornering performance.
As well as offering exceptional cornering, the Potenza RE050A’s pattern provides rapid water evacuation. Even at high speeds the tyre’s contact patch remains clear, so there is less chance of hydroplaning and more grip on the road.
The Potenza RE050A is available in two sizes for the Aston Martin V8 Vantage; 235/45 (front) and 275/40 (rear) for 18 inch lightweight aluminium wheels, and 235/40 (front) and 275/35 (rear) for 19 inch wheels.
