Firestone’s Prescott Plant To ExpandFirestone Building Products’ facility planning to open new distribution center
PRESCOTT, Ark. (Nov. 21, 2006)- The nearly 600 teammates at Firestone Building Products Company, LLC’s (FSBP) Prescott, Ark., facility are about to get a little more elbow-room—an extra 160,000 square feet of it—at work. The facility has announced it is launching an $11 million expansion that will result in a new distribution center.
“This project represents an investment in the future of the Firestone Building Products Prescott Complex,” said Bill Smith, Firestone Building Products’ Prescott Plant Manager. “Our plant is experiencing this growth because of the quality work and commitment of its teammates. Thanks to their hard work, our products are among the best in the business, and we are dedicated to continuing to produce and distribute our products to our growing customer base.”
The new distribution center will span 160,000 square feet and be built on 11 acres adjacent to the current facility. Plant management plans to reallocate teammates to staff the new distribution center, which is scheduled to open in May 2007.
The facility produces EPDM single-ply rubber roofing, reinforced rubber roofing, flashing material and rubber membrane seam tape. It has operated in the southwest-Arkansas community since 1970.
