Bridgestone Firestone Canada Announces Price Increases

Mississauga (Ontario), April 30, 2007) – Bridgestone Firestone Canada Inc. (BFCA) has announced price increases on Bridgestone, Firestone, Fuzion and associate brand tire lines. The announced increases, generally up to 5 percent on passenger and light truck, and agricultural and off-the-road tires, with possible specific in-line adjustments in excess of 5 percent, will affect those tires sold by BFCA and will primarily include the replacement channel. The price increases are scheduled to begin phasing in June 1, 2007.

“As we have seen in our other business units, the continuing upward spiral of raw material costs can not be managed through the enhanced efficiencies and increased productivity that we are continually implementing at all levels of our companies,” said Asahiko “Duke” Nishiyama, Vice Chairman and President of Bridgestone Americas Holding, Inc., parent company of BFCA.  “As a result, Bridgestone Firestone Canada has no choice but to implement this price increase.”
