All-New 2008 Toyota Highlander Rides On Bridgestone Tires

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Jan. 10, 2008) – Bridgestone-brand Dueler™ H/L 400 tires are original equipment for Toyota’s all-new next-generation Highlander sport utility vehicle (SUV).

The significantly larger, roomier and more powerful 2008 Highlander is available with Bridgestone Dueler H/L 400 tires in sizes P245/65R17 105S and P245/55R19 103S. As a luxury touring original equipment tire, the Bridgestone Dueler H/L 400, with an all-season tread pattern for wet and dry traction, gives Highlander owners cruising comfort and command of the road.

Bridgestone brand has been an original equipment tire supplier to the Highlander since 2001 when Toyota introduced its popular mid-size SUV. The 2008 Highlander is one of the first SUVs to be outfitted with a Bridgestone 19-inch original equipment tire.

Currently, 15 other Toyota vehicles come standard with Bridgestone- and/or Firestone-brand tires, including the Avalon, Camry, Camry Solara, Corolla, 4Runner, FJ Cruiser, Land Cruiser, Matrix, Prius, RAV4, Sequoia, Sienna, Tacoma, Tundra and Yaris.

According to Toyota, the all-new Highlander is noticeably quieter and smarter with improved versatility and ride comfort, and has a comprehensive list of standard safety features – including a driver’s knee airbag and roll-sensing side curtain airbags for all three rows of seats.

The 2008 Toyota Highlander is offered in three grades: Base, Sport and Limited. All are powered by a new 3.5-liter V6 to deliver 270 horsepower – a 55 horsepower gain over the previous generation’s 3.3-liter engine. Nineteen-inch alloy wheels are standard on both the Sport and Limited models.
