Allied Waste Names Bridgestone Americas Companies “Preferred Suppliers”

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Feb. 28, 2008) –Allied Waste Industries, Inc. has designated Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire, LLC (BFNT) and Bridgestone Bandag, LLC (Bandag) as its preferred suppliers. Under the agreement, BFNT supplies Allied’s commercial and off the road tire needs, while Bandag provides Allied with retreading services. Both BFNT and Bandag will offer tire management services.

Allied Waste is the second largest non-hazardous solid waste management company in the U.S. and serves 10 million residential, commercial and industrial customers. The company operates an extensive fleet of 12,500 collection vehicles, including residential loaders, transfer station vehicles and landfill machinery in 37 states and Puerto Rico.
