New Toyota Land Cruiser Travels On Bridgestone Tires

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 10, 2008) – In some parts of the world, says Toyota, the Land Cruiser is an essential tool for off-roading. The right tire, of course, is necessary to tackle the toughest terrain and that is why Bridgestone-brand Dueler™ tires are original equipment on the latest installment of Toyota’s legendary sport utility vehicle (SUV).

The newly-styled, more-powerful, seventh-generation 2008 Toyota Land Cruiser is available with Bridgestone Dueler H/T D684 II tires in size P285/60R18 114V. The all-season tire is ideal for adventuring off-road, yet is quiet and comfortable on-highway. This makes for a performance combination particularly suited to Toyota’s upscale, go-anywhere SUV.

The Bridgestone Dueler H/T D684 II incorporates a combination of technologies that improve the primary factors of the tire’s performance – the casing, the bead and the tread. Collectively, these technologies are known as UNI-T™ (Ultimate Network of Intelligent Tire Technology).

Some key advantages of patented Bridgestone UNI-T technology are rounder overall tire shape to provide better balance for wet or dry handling, special re-engineered carbon black to improve tire wear and noise reduction for a more peaceful ride.

The Land Cruiser has been available in the United States since 1958 and has sported Bridgestone-brand tires since 1986. Presently, 15 other Toyota vehicles come standard with Bridgestone- and/or Firestone-brand tires, including the Avalon, Camry, Camry Solara, Corolla, 4Runner, FJ Cruiser, Highlander, Matrix, Prius, RAV4, Sequoia, Sienna, Tacoma, Tundra and Yaris.
