Bridgestone Americas Promotes MacDonald

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 1, 2008) – Bridgestone Americas Holding, Inc. (BSAH) today announced that Dan MacDonald, currently Director of Media Relations for BSAH, has been promoted to Executive Director, Communications, effective immediately. MacDonald is in charge of managing corporate communications to both internal and external audiences and is responsible for ensuring that accurate information about the company, its products and its performance is provided to the news media, company teammates, dealers and the community in a clear and consistent manner. He is also responsible for managing the company’s corporate image advertising efforts and often serves as the company’s spokesman, among many other communications related responsibilities.

According to Christine Karbowiak, Vice President, Community and Corporate Relations, “Dan is extremely deserving of his promotion, having earned the trust of those whose messages he helps communicate and as well as those to whom those messages are delivered. He is a great asset to the Bridgestone Americas family of companies, grounded in good judgment and intent on producing a quality product.”

MacDonald, an award-winning broadcast journalist, joined BSAH in 2002 after having worked in broadcast news for 18 years. Most recently, he served as an anchor and investigative reporter for Newschannel 5 and News 2 in Nashville.  He graduated from Michigan State University in 1984 with Bachelors degrees in International Relations and Broadcast Journalism. He also earned a Masters degree in Journalism in 1985 from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University.
