Bridgestone Brand Adds New Sizes To Its All-Position Radial LineupNew Sizes for R250 ED Tire Help Fleets Fight Cutting, Curbing and Impact Damage

MUSCATINE, Iowa (Oct.28, 2008) — Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions (BBTS) is adding two sizes to its lineup of Bridgestone R250 ED all-position radial tires. Regional and pickup-and-delivery fleets seeking better protection from the stresses of curbing, tread cuts and impacts now have more options with the new 255/70R22.5 and 275/70R22.5 tire sizes. These, and other sizes, are available from a Bridgestone commercial tire dealer or truckstop.

“The R250 ED is suitable for use by pickup and delivery fleets, moving vans, auto haulers and rural school bus fleets. As these vehicles often experience tight cornering, this tire is designed to provide sidewall protection from twisting, scraping and scrubbing, and tread protection from cutting and chipping,” says Guy Walenga, Director, Engineering, Commercial Products and Technologies, Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire, LLC. “The addition of these new sizes allows us to better serve regional and pickup-and-delivery fleets in high-scrub urban or mild on/off highway environments, particularly for those using trailers.”

The R250 ED all-position tire is made from an extra-duty cut- and chip-resistant compound and features sidewall protector ribs for enhanced performance in severe on-highway, moderate on/off-highway and mixed service. Five ribs with four wide, straight grooves are designed to produce precise handling and excellent traction. For more information on this all-position radial tire, ask your Bridgestone dealer or visit www.BridgestoneTrucktires.com.
