Firestone Industrial Products Company’s Dyersburg Plant Receives Governor’s Safety AwardPlant achieves recognition for fourth consecutive year

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Oct. 30, 2008) — For the fourth year in a row, the Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development has awarded the Governor’s Award of Excellence for Workplace Safety to Firestone Industrial Products Company LLC’s (FSIP) plant in Dyersburg.

“It is an honor to receive this award,” said Mike Kroeger, FSIP’s Dyersburg Plant Manager. “Our team in Dyersburg strives to create a safe and health-conscious workplace, so it is very gratifying to be recognized by the state with this award.”

The Governor’s Award was established to recognize Tennessee employers and employees of manufacturing and construction firms who meet a required number of hours within a calendar year without injuries serious enough for an employee to miss a day of work or restrict job performance. The number of hours without injury required varies on company size.

FSIP currently employs 130 people at the Dyersburg plant. By working more than 300,000 man-hours without lost time or restricted duty incident, the facility qualified for the Governor’s Award. The Dyersburg plant is one of eight Tennessee facilities to receive the recognition so far this year.
