Bridgestone Brand Utilizes Barrett-Jackson Events to Build Awareness

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Jan. 13, 2009) — The festive holiday season is not over for collector car aficionados, who are turning their attention to one of the most anticipated events of the year – the Barrett-Jackson® auction in Scottsdale, Ariz., January 11-18. And building on a successful partnership that was established in 2008, the Bridgestone brand is proud to once again serve as the Official Tire of The World’s Greatest Collector Car Events™ in Scottsdale, West Palm Beach, Fla., and Las Vegas this year.

“The Bridgestone brand enjoyed tremendous exposure through our partnership with Barrett-Jackson at their three premiere auctions in 2008,” commented Phil Pacsi, Vice President, Consumer Tire Marketing, Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations (BATO). “We welcomed thousands of visitors to our display area over the course of the events, where they experienced the world-class technology, high performance and style, for which Bridgestone tires are renowned.”

BATO will once again have a display transporter on-site in Scottsdale, featuring diverse and stunning show vehicles like the Canepa Design Aston Martin Vantage and race-prepared BMW Z4 M coupe, as well as a rare Ducati Desmosedici motorcycle and a racing kart – all on Bridgestone performance tires. Staff will be available to educate visitors about Bridgestone products, answer fitment questions and distribute literature, and guests to the display will have the opportunity to register to win a free set of Bridgestone tires for their personal vehicle.

The first car will cross the block at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 13, and the auction will continue each day through Sunday, January 18. Highlights will include a record 14 vehicles that will be auctioned for charity and the first production Ford Thunderbird, produced on Sept. 9, 1954.
