Firestone Building Products Company, LLC Prescott Facility Celebrates 40th Anniversary And Safety AchievementCompany and community leaders congratulate plant at picnic celebration

PRESCOTT, Arkansas (May 1, 2010) - The Firestone Building Products Company, LLC (FSBP) facility in Prescott, Ark., today celebrated 40 years of operations and 1 million hours worked without a lost-time accident at a picnic luncheon with company and community leaders.

“This is a great day for our facility and our company,” said Ray Oxley, Prescott Plant Manager, FSBP. “I am proud of all that this facility has accomplished, and the impact we have had on the Prescott community. We certainly look forward to a bright future here.”

U.S. Congressman Mike Ross and Prescott Mayor Howard Taylor congratulated the facility on its 40th anniversary.

“The people in my hometown of Prescott and in Nevada County are some of the hardest working people I know,” Mike Ross said to the crowd of FSBP coworkers and family members. “Since 1970, Firestone Building Products Company has had a successful operation here because of a dedicated local workforce and company leadership committed to safety. This facility represents a true partnership because it has earned the support of the community, its people and its local leaders – all of whom are committed to economic development. Congratulations on a job well done; I know everyone is looking forward to the next 40 years.”

Not to be lost in the anniversary festivities was the plant’s safety achievement being celebrated on the same day. The Prescott facility recently passed the 1 million hours worked threshold without a lost-time accident, an accomplishment the plant also previously achieved in 2003, 2006 and 2008.

“Safety is the number one priority at all FSBP facilities,” said Mike Vall, President, FSBP. “This is a huge milestone for our Prescott plant — an accomplishment for which they should be recognized and of which they should all be proud.”

The FSBP Prescott facility produces EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) high-performance synthetic rubber roofing systems.
