MUSCATINE, Iowa (July 30, 2010) – It is my pleasure to announce that Kurt Danielson, currently Vice President, Sales & Marketing for Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions (BBTS), will be promoted to the position of President, BBTS. The promotion will be effective August 1, 2010.

In his role as President, Kurt will be responsible for the daily operation, profitability and long-term strategic direction of BBTS, including sales, marketing, finance, HR, manufacturing, and research and development. Kurt joined then-Bridgestone/Firestone, Inc. in 1994 as Territory Manager in Cincinnati, Ohio, and then as Territory Consultant in Nashville, Tenn. He moved on to become Sales Manager of Original Equipment and Truckstop; Director of Commercial Tire Marketing, North America; Executive Director, Truck and Bus Marketing, North America, Vice President, Marketing North America; and most recently Vice President Sales & Marketing, BBTS. Kevin started his career with Bridgestone Americas as Manager, External Financial Reporting for then-Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire, LLC in 2005 after spending many years in public accounting. Kevin was BRIDGESTONE AMERICAS TIRE OPERATIONS, LLC

instrumental during the merger between Bridgestone Americas and Bandag, and was directly involved in accounting-related activities as part of that transaction. His positive attitude and team approach will serve him well in his new role. Kevin formerly held the position of Controller, TBR & Retread.

Kevin holds a Masters of Accountancy and Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Brigham Young University and is a certified public accountant in the state of Tennessee.

Troy Geuther will remain Controller, U.S. & Canada Commercial Tire Sales division providing financial leadership for the division that includes: Agricultural Tire, Off Road Tire, Company Owned Operations (COO), Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions and the Tube Business.
