Firestone-brand Firehawk GT Tires Are Original Equipment Option On The All-new 2011 Dodge Charger and ChallengerIconic ‘60s vehicles gets update, burned rubber off showroom floor in late 2010

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Feb. 8, 2011) - Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations (BATO) is pleased to announce that its Firestone-brand Firehawk GT tires are optional original equipment on the all-new Dodge performance flagship sedan, the 2011 Dodge Charger, as well as the new performance and handling infused 2011 Dodge Challenger muscle car.

BATO will supply the new models with specially designed and engineered Firestone-brand Firehawk GT all-season performance tires in size 245/45R20 99V.

“The Charger and Challenger are icons of motorsport culture, known for their incredible performances both on the road and on the silver screen. The Firestone brand has its own iconic status when it comes to on-road performances in America and linking these brands together is very exciting for us,” said Michael Martini, President, Original Equipment, U.S. and Canada Consumer Tire Sales Division, BATO. “In pairing the Firestone Firehawk GT’s sporty performance and all season capability with these all-new muscle cars, we may have several new motorsport legends in the making.”

The Firestone-brand Firehawk GT tires are included as original equipment on the all-new 2011 Dodge Charger with R/T Plus, R/T Road & Track, R/T Max packages and Wheels & Tunes and Rallye Appearance Groups. The same Firehawk GTs are offered as original equipment on the new 2011 Dodge Challenger SE with the all-new Super Sport Group and available on the legendary Challenger R/T models.

The Firestone Firehawk GT is a V-speed rated, all-season, sporty performance tire engineered with the company’s exclusive UNI-T™ technology that delivers performance attributes such as practical all-season traction capability. It also features an advanced technology called Veri-Pitch that minimizes pattern and road noises often found in performance tires.

With its iconic character, contemporary fastback four-door coupe proportions, world-class performance, and state-of-the-art connectivity features, the all-new 2011 Charger is the Dodge brand’s flagship that proudly delivers premium, world-class E-segment sedan precision at an incredible value.

The new 2011 Dodge Challenger delivers more of what muscle-car enthusiasts want — a more powerful and efficient engine lineup, maximum grip with an all-new performance suspension design and even more athletic styling — all executed with quality and precision.

Built at the Brampton Assembly Plant in Brampton, Ontario (Canada), the all-new 2011 Dodge Charger and Challenger are now in showrooms.
