Bridgestone Americas Contributes to Japan Earthquake Relief Efforts

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 15, 2011) - Bridgestone Americas, Inc. (BSAM) has announced it will donate $250,000 to the Japanese Red Cross to assist with relief efforts following the March 11 earthquake/tsunami in Japan.

“A tragedy of this magnitude is always devastating to see, but it’s especially heartbreaking when it affects our teammates, and their families and loved ones,” said Gary Garfield, President and CEO, BSAM. “On behalf of all Bridgestone Americas teammates, I’d like to express our sympathy to those who have lost loved ones, and we hope that the donation will aid the people of Japan in rebuilding and restoring their country.”

The Bridgestone family of companies would like to express their condolences to all who have been affected by this disaster, and wish the nation of Japan a quick recovery.
