Bridgestone Retail Operations Names ASE Master Technician Of The Year
Technician honored for outstanding achievements

BLOOMINGDALE, Ill. (Nov. 30, 2011) - Bridgestone Retail Operations, LLC (BSRO), which operates the largest network of company-owned automotive service providers in the world, and the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) have named Noel Barnhart  the BSRO/ASE Master Technician of the Year for 2011.

“Because of his professionalism and exceptional performance each and every day, Noel epitomizes our brand promise, a Promise to Care,” said Matt Hoskins, President, BSRO. “We are proud to have Noel represent BSRO as the BSRO/ASE Master Technician of the Year.”

Noel, a 34 year BSRO veteran, serves as lead technician at the Davenport, IA store. He is currently ASE Master Automotive certified and has the L1 Advanced Engine Performance ASE certification as well. Noel received his first ASE Certification in May 1986, passing all 8 ASE tests on his first attempt becoming ASE Master Certified at that time. Additionally, he has held the ASE L1 Certification since November 1995. ASE L1 certification is the single most difficult automotive ASE certification to obtain, and requires extensive knowledge in drivability and engine management.

Outside of his busy work schedule, Noel and his wife are very active foster parents. They have taken in more than 30 foster children over the years, providing them a loving, stable home environment.

“We congratulate Noel for his outstanding achievement,” said Tim ZiIke, ASE President & CEO. “With nearly 400,000 ASE-certified professionals throughout the country, the award is particularly designed to highlight excellence and to recognize those whose dedication, commitment and professionalism represents the best our industry has to offer.”

Barnhart was honored at a national awards banquet in Charlotte, NC where the ASE recognized a total of 40 technicians.
