Bridgestone Retail Operations Names 2013 Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Technician of the YearBSRO technical education coordinator appointed chairman of ASE board

BLOOMINGDALE, Ill.(Dec. 16, 2013) – Bridgestone Retail Operations (BSRO) has named Bill O’Hara as its BSRO/National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Master Automobile Technician of the year. O’Hara was recognized at an awards ceremony during ASE’s fall board meeting on Nov. 21, 2013 in Newport Beach, Calif.

Glenn Dahl, BSRO’s senior coordinator, technical education, was named ASE board chairman for 2014.

O’Hara, who works at BSRO’s Firestone Complete Auto Care location in Fairfield, Calif., has been an automotive technician for 36 years. During his 31-year tenure with BSRO, he has received numerous awards for exceptional customer service and productivity.

“Bill is the epitome of what we look for in a BSRO teammate,” said BSRO President Stu Crum. “His passion for automotive service is evident every day, from his interactions with customers to the support and expertise he shares with co-workers. Bill is a very deserving recipient of this award.”

As chairman, Dahl, a 33-year industry veteran, will help lead the ASE board of directors in its mission to improve the quality of vehicle repair and service by testing and certifying repair and service professionals. “Glenn has served on the ASE board of directors and as an officer for a number of years, so his institutional knowledge of ASE will be invaluable as chairman,” said Tim Zilke, ASE President & CEO.
