Bill Thompson currently serves as Chief Financial Officer for Bridgestone Americas. In his position, Thompson is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Finance and Accounting functions of the organization, including providing timely analyses of budgets, financial trends and forecasts; ensuring beneficial financial relationships with banks and the parent company; directing cash flow and debt management; and providing executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities.
Thompson has a wide array of experience working for Bridgestone, joining the company as Senior Financial Analyst of the Southeast Zone in 1996. Since then, he has held a variety of Coordinator and Controller positions for the retail, manufacturing, sales and corporate groups. In 2011, Thompson served as West Zone Manager for US Commercial Tire Sales, where he later took on the role as Corporate Controller of Shared Financial Services and Reporting in 2012.
Thompson is a native of Huntington, New York. He received a bachelor’s degree in economics at State University of New York Stony Brook, and a master’s degree in finance from Georgia State University.He currently resides in Brentwood, Tenn., with his wife and their three sons. His hobbies include running, basketball and playing sports with his sons.
